Client Overview

Our client, the world’s largest privately held cruise company, needed extensive staffing support to manage operations at a major port. With roles spanning Check-In Agents, Ground Transport Agents, Training Managers, Supervisors, Assistant Supervisors, Camp Bosses, and Terminal Directional Staff, they required a capable, flexible team to ensure seamless operations.

Challenges

The staffing requirements for this project were highly complex:

  • High Volume in Limited Timeframe: The client needed 560 staff onboarded within just one month.
  • Short-Term Contract Challenges: Attracting a high caliber of talent for a three-month contract posed challenges.
  • Flexible and Demanding Shifts: Employees had to work flexible shifts, including eight-hour standing shifts, which required individuals with strong endurance and commitment.
  • Temporary Accommodation During Peak Demand: With the FIFA event happening simultaneously, arranging fully furnished temporary accommodations for male and female employees was particularly difficult due to high demand.

Solutions

To address these challenges, we implemented a multi-faceted approach:

  • Attractive Compensation Package: We offered competitive salaries, medical insurance, quality food, and secure accommodation and transportation. These incentives helped attract a larger talent pool for the temporary positions.
  • Expedited Visa Processing with Multiple Entry: Most of the staff were onboarded with a three-month multiple-entry work visa, which expedited mobilization and allowed rapid scaling up to meet the deadline.
  • Salary Transfers via Ooredoo Money: Since staff were on temporary visas without Qatar IDs or bank accounts, we initiated salary transfers through Ooredoo Money to ensure timely, reliable payments, even in this unique setup.

Value Added: :

Our efforts went beyond standard staffing solutions, adding significant value for the client:

  • Pre-approved Visa Quota: A pre-approved visa quota of over 2,000 for one year and the three-month multiple-entry options provided flexibility and scalability.
  • Expeditious Work Permit Process: Through streamlined procedures and close coordination with authorities, work permits were processed within a remarkable 4 working days, facilitating rapid deployment.
  • ERP-Driven Client Portal: The client could track live updates on onboarded candidates through our ERP-enabled client portal, ensuring transparency and operational control.
  • Self-Service Portal for Staff: Associates were able to access essential details, such as salary slips and leave balances, through a self-service portal, enhancing employee satisfaction and autonomy.
  • Regular Reporting: Daily and monthly progress reports were generated and shared with the client, ensuring they had visibility into staffing progress and performance.

Outcome

Innovations successfully met the client's high-volume staffing needs, filling all 560 roles within the designated timeframe and ensuring smooth, reliable operations. By implementing an efficient visa process, flexible compensation structure, and specialized salary disbursement methods, we provided a workforce that was ready to meet the challenges of flexible, demanding shifts and temporary accommodation. Our client now considers Innovations their go-to staffing partner for agile, high-volume staffing solutions in the region.
